Social network launched a platform for Messenger

At the F8 conference in San Francisco, USA, Facebook announced a platform for developing virtual interlocutors for its Messenger app.

According to representatives of the social network, it is Internet messengers that will become the main way of communication between companies and their customers, and artificial intelligence will play a key role in this process.

The company introduced an API that will allow companies to develop their own bots for their needs, as well as embed widgets with them on their pages.

As part of the conference, Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated the work of bots for the CNN news resource and the 1-800-FLOWERS flower delivery service. In the first case, the user will be able to receive a personalized collection of news, in the second – to place an order without telephone communication or communication with a human.

Chat bots have become one of the latest technology trends this year.
